Hey y'all from Iowa!
How y'all doing? My name is JJ from Waterloo, Iowa. Have been snooping around here for awhile and taking in some valuable info.
Embracing my heritage i have been venturing out wearing my utility kilt. Work, church, and recently as an announcer for our local roller derby team, the Pushup Brawlers. Am looking forward to getting to know people here in this community.

Welcome from Colorado!
I grew up in Davenport, IA (some would argue that it didn't take) and spent a few semesters up at UNI before transferring to school out here. Ended up staying, obviously.
Hope you are a regular contributor here--Iowa seems underrepresented!

Roller derby seems to love kilts, no? I wear my kilt to every local bout and usually see a couple others. who knew!?!
Again, welcome.

Yeah, the kilt is popular with roller derby. In fact, i use it as my announce name, Kilty S. Charged. Then, in my schtick, use it in conversation...
"The question has been asked by this lovely lass, what's under the kilt? Well, a gentleman never tells."
Now from there, depending on who is asking i will just drop it and add to her curiosity. Now if its a derby girl who asks...watch out! LOL!
"You can't handle the truth!"
"Your hands warm?"
"What are you wearing under your skirt?"
"Oh, thanks for playing but back to derby action!"
"Are you here for the kilt or the derby?"
Of course, being a family thing, ya kinda want to watch what you say over the mic. I did hear one of our derby gals tell an opponent ...
"He wouldn't be Kilty without the kilt."
Am actually looking to pick up a purple kilt or purple camo utility kilt for the team...at their request of course!

I would bet you're thinking of Rubes. Definitely a small world since I'm from Marshalltown.
