Original Mountain Hardware Kilt.
I am looking for an original Mountain Hardwar Kilt. Does anyone know where I might be able to get on or if there is anyone looking at selling one? I wear a size M in the elkommando kilt so I guess that’s the size I am looking for. Any help would be great

There is a Mountain Hardware store in Richmond Ca. You might contact them. It is located on Harbor Way or South Harbor Way, not sure which is correct.

This is about the only place to get that kilt. They only have one M left at this time. Mountain Hardwear doesn't list that kilt anymore on their website which is why I picked up a couple of spares and now have 3. Really love them for hiking.
They have been sold out several times and then show up in inventory in small numbers. I wonder if they are making small runs for REI and Altrec.com.

Just for correctness: This is their second attempt at a kilt. Their first try was more like a skirt than kilt and I am glad they tried again.

REI also seems to have the Elkommando available online

Forgot to check on REI. I have picked up a couple from REI and one from altrec. I like the way it dries out very quickly and doesn't hold wrinkles too badly. Wash and wear.

Me too! I didn't care much for the look of the first one but their new one is great.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I doubt you will find the original unless it is at a second hand store. Clothing manufactures make a seasonal run of items and thats it.. You get it while it is there and hope the next year they make it again. Mountain Hardware changed to the newer kilt design from one that looked more like a skirt, which was the biggest complaint. Now if they would change the thin belt and add an array of other colours. Seems they are concentrating on sales to REI and maybe a select couple of other stores. By now most outdoor retail stores are starting to get fall gear in so if you havent gotten an Elkommando your chances are getting slim. Once they are gone it will be next summer till you see them again.
