I'm not sure immediately what the problem may be. I've asked our tech team to investigate. But meanwhile if anyone is affected and wishes to place an order, please just add a note in the Special Instructions area of the checkout and our retail staff will apply the XMTS discount before charging.
Sorry for the nuisance, and thanks for letting us know!

I'm told by the techs that a possible reason for this happening is if someone has their web browser set to mask the 'referer' data. Our systems automatically recognise any visitor coming from a link anywhere on XMTS (without needing a special code) but if you hide this data in your browser settings, it won't work. Hope this helps.

Nick, on only one computer, your techies could be right, but on several computers, all coming up with the same fault at the same time, where it worked OK before and noones touched the browser settings, I don't see this beeing a browser problem. By the way, I work in IT and your 10% discount (which always worked for me) now doesn't work any longer and I have not touched my browser settings. I will check tonight on my laptop which runs the same browser and the same OS.

Okay thanks for the feedback. If you work in IT, you'll be familiar with the difficulty of tracking down bugs that are intermittent or unreproducable. And we've yet to be able to reproduce it ourselves. We'll stay on the case. Any further clues appreciated!
And meantime, as I say, please just make a note at the checkout if you want the discount... :-)

As an IT guy myself, a couple of suggestions I can offer that may help pinpoint the problem. 1. If the computers you've tried have had a recent update, it may be something windows set in the system or browser that changed without you being aware. 2. If all the computers are going through the same domain, it might be a internet provider setting that has changed rather than anything on your computer.
Just in case it's helpful.

Thanks for getting your techies to look into this glitch, Nick. I checked this evening and it doesn't work on my laptop, either. Both my desktop and my laptop are running Windows XP and IE8 (fully up to date).

I tried to use an older version of my browser (Mozilla Firefox) and downloaded Opera for a try...No change. Still no discount shown.

Good thinking, but for me my desktop computer and my laptop are in two different locations, different domains with different internet providers so no luck on that score. I'm currently updating another laptop. When it's fully up to date I will give it a try.

When you go to the ScotWeb site do you find that you're already logged into your account with them? If so, perhaps its the profile that's corrupted on the ScotWeb server. Try creating a new profile on ScotWeb and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, then there's a lead for Nick's tech boys.
