Wow, wow and thrice WOW! Fantastic pictures Brooke, I have said it before and will say it again, isn't the world a beautiful place? OK, not all of it, but that is one special place! I shall never understand, although delighted that you do, why people come all this way to see Scotland, when there are probably equally beautiful places nearer home.

Great pics of RMNP, Brooke. I hadn't realized the colors were starting up already so it's time I head out with the camera and loads of memory cards! It is almost time for the elk rut so that might just work out perfect. Your picture of Hallet Peak and Emerald Lake (the peak that looks like someone cut it in half vertically) is great. Been up there many times.

Jock, you need to come over next year for the games and a tour! I think I could guarantee a VERY inexpensive room, assuming my parents don't promise it to someone else.

Absolutely stunning photographs, Brooke! Thanks for sharing. My father and I have backpacked, hiked, fished, mountaineered, and rock-climbed in Rocky Mountain National Park ever since I was a wee lad. Trail Ridge Road is a wonderful way to cross the park, especially if the road isn't too congested with tourists. From your photos, you can really observe the destructive nature of the infamous, Mountain Pine Beetle. It is truly horrible what the beetles have done to the beautiful pine trees in Colorado, and it has been the worst case in years! Lovely HOC Sandringham hose, by the way.

Beautiful country that. I especially like the shot of the yellow and orange spots in the middle of the pine forest - mother nature at her best!

I'm sure it's the same the around the world, Jock. People travel thousands of miles to see something, but take for granted what's in their own back yard.

I always have liked the Rockies, but being on the east coast I don't get there very often. But, to Jock's point, there are some pretty vistas in the Appalachians as well.

Those pictures brought back some wonderful memories of a trip I took some years back to that area to visit friends. That is one area of the country that I would love to find myself living one day. I had the privilege of being there at the height of the elk rut and they were EVERYWHERE it seemed in the park. I will get back one day.
