Kilts in the theatre
My wife and I went to the Stratford Festival today to see a matinee of Pirates of Penzance. Not only was I wearing my kilt (and my new hand-knit hose) but it turns out that the policemen in the play were all kilted. Looked like the Government sett, with the commander wearing a hair sporran and the rest wearing plain leather. They pulled it off quite well.
Also, in the drinks lineup at intermission an older lady asked if she could hear my accent. I told her I only had a Vancouver accent, and she said she was disappointed, because she wanted to compliment me on my "braw knees."

I believe my friend Steve Ross was in that production. Possibly the Major General. I hope you enjoyed yourself.

I enjoyed myself immensely, and it made me miss acting something terrible. Your friend is the Sergeant of Police, and he was very good.

Welcome to my home town. You will find a number of us kilted folk around. In fact some of the crew wear kilts that I made for them. Are you seeing other shows at the Festival?
Drop by my shop if you have a chance. I moved to a new location 390 Douro.... though it's a bit out of the way of the theatre district. Revel Cafe has the best coffee in town. I can suggest some other places too if you would like. you can PM me (rkilts at bellnet dot ca) Have a grand time
Cheers
Robert
