Review of the Hybrid from Got-Kilt

    Hello everyone,

I'd like to give you a review of what I have experienced with a hybrid kilt I bought nearly a month ago from Got-Kilt at the Michigan Renfest. I want to start by saying that this is my first contemporary kilt. You can tell that by the narrower apron, pockets on the side and well it's BlackWatch and Black scheme.

I want to start with the fit. I bought the size 40. It closes with four snaps, it's nice that it has two side straps to cinch it tighter if you need it. The material is 100% cotton, like a denim. So it will wear nicely. The two pockets on the sides are really nice. While I'm wearing a sporran you could go with out and carry everything you need in the two pockets. Speaking of sporran, this kilt has seven belt loops.

The kilt has it's pleats sewn down to the hips so it has nice feel. It would have swish to the pleats if they were deeper, but this is a contemporary after all.The pleats are knife pleats that are directed back on both sides. So like the Rev style at the end of the X-Kilt manual. As well each pleat is actually a panel, sewn together to make this kilt. So it doesn't sit or hang like normal kilt would. The only real major complain I have is that the under apron is smaller then I'm used to, and tends to pull to the left when I walk.

I will say it's nice in that you can just throw it in the in washer, layout to dry, and then it's good to go again... minding a little mild pressing to even everything out. The price was $99, and you can find it at their site got-kilt.com

Good review and good look. Thank you.

Same general feeling about Stillwater's Economy and Standards in acrylic tartan, sure wish they had at least one pocket...'am so American....

Looks interesting. I've checked those out before, but I don't see a $99 option, only a $150 model. And nothing with the denim/tartan combo. Only this: http://got-kilt.com/Hybridkilt.html Maybe it was a festival model and price?

They were discounted at the renfest. That's why I say $99. As for the two tone... Well that truely is the only place I've seen it. Couldn't hurt to ask them if they'll have that model back in stock though.

    oh - got kilt.

I was wondering how to combine gots with kitls - something that bleats with something that meows?

I'll just try my mod powers to make an adjustment.

I was wondering about that price...

Recently picked up a Black Watch hybrid from their site for the full price, and have been enjoying it muchly. Wore it up to Twin Peaks on a slightly blustery day and didn't feel cold at all down below.

Though I should've probably had on something more weighty up top than a t-shirt...
