I suspect you're right. But I need to give at least a mouse's ****--I won't have the benefit of looking this good while throwing:

I have heard that there are some local throwers that meet around Dallas/Ft Worth and practice on the weekends. Any one have any more information on that?

Either corral the tease who told you that and thump him until he reveals time and location, or go poke around the NASGA forums. Sign up and ask around!

    2. there isn't a snowballs chance in Hades that I could do ONE chin up with 35 extra pounds on my belt. I struggle to do one, period, as it is. I can do 10 (3 x 3 x 2 x 2) if I get 80 pounds of assistance. And I work at it, twice a week for a month.

As for 2014, pookie....fingers crossed! Imagine the consternation that ensued at home when that arrived!

The consternation? Golly, I hadn't foreseen that...

I know '13 is jammed, so I wanted to throw '14 out there. Just planting the seed.

    9/19:

"You know what we gotta do?"
    "Yoga party."

    Yogaaa! Yogaaa!

Don't like it, but need it.

Throwing tonight. Head up to the park, let the boy jack around on the playground while I try not to hit the soccer players.

Okay, Phil, you were right. But I hope you'll come to see that a degree from Faber...sorry--Caber College is worth the sacrifice!

You know, being smallish and all.... brute strength is not going to be your biggest asset, though it will surely help. You don't have the raw mass to counterbalance the big weights. Nope, your most likely path to success is through learning how to throw RIGHT....and speed.

If you're on Facebook, look me up. Alan Hebert. There are throwers groups on FB as well. I have a buddy name of Mark Buchanon, who's a Masters thrower and who usually whups me pretty good on the field. He's from Colorado and has agree'd to yakk with you, though he says he's pretty much done with throwing for the year.

If you have a local practice group, especially if there are one or two A class dudes in it, then you're off to a good start, and may not need to bug Mark.

ALyon... go look at the thread I wrote... "Duncans Videos". that's Duncan MacCallum, who in fact throws in North Texas. You can probably message him through YouTube.

You can also contact the North Texas Heavies here: http://www.northtexasheavies.com/
