In all seriosity, Travis, I'm digging those. If you find out, let me know. If not, I'll just dust off my Rocky Horror Picture Hose...

Trog, have I told you how helpful you are? If so... I lied.

I would venture to say those would have to be a custom knit job.

That's a disturbing mental picture ! You kilted and in your Rocky Horror Picture hose ( fishnet ) and probably doing the Time Warp .

You should not read this thread before your first cup of coffee. The images are just too much to have going through your mind.

I believe that the hose are similar to the Large Shepard Plaid Kilt Hose as knit by Joannie Newsome (Matt's wife). They can be seen on Ravelry (a knitters forum) if you have an account (free)

    and on Matt's site:

Those could be knit hose in a pattern like the small shepherd's check hose my wife knits. Or they could be cut and sewn from woven cloth (cadadh) which was also rather common in the past.

If you want knit hose, you can commission a knitter (such as my wife). If you want the cadadh, your best bet would be to find some woolen cloth in a pattern you like and experiment with making your own. (I'm sure someone can find some online instructions). You are basically sewing a tube around your foot and leg, and it is important to get a fit that is tight around your calf, but loose enough around your ankle to allow you to get your foot through.

    Good luck!
