It happened to me at Floors, in Kelso, last year Ham.

A young boy, with a distint Scottish accent, no more than 6 or 7yrs, asked me the question.

'Are you in a band?' He asked.

'No', I replied.

'Then why are you wearing a kilt?'

'Because I want to' I answered.

He just looked at me and walked off.

OK. So he could be forgiven. It was a massed pipe band day at the castle and there were hundreds of kilts about. However, apart from me and the Duke, (that, of course, should read 'the Duke and I'!) all the kilt wearing guys were in pipe bands!
