Great pics, brings back happy memories of my holiday (vacation) in the White Mountains in 2010 which also included the New Hampshire Games. Here's a rather fuzzy shot from the summit of Mount Washington, taken on 16th September 2010. On Top of the World by cessna152towser

Ken, how the heck do you stitch photos together? I've tried many times. Maybe I just don't have the right program to do it? Usually I use Gimp.
 Great pics, especially the panorama.

 Cheers!

Frank, I used a program called "AutoStitch". Very easy. Tell it which photos to stitch together, and it does all the work.

Since this year's weather has been a bit uncooperative for photos, here are a few shots and clips from past years, just to show off the area.
 First, some color...

Next, a little majesty (the Presidential Range, viewed from the Mt. Washington Auto Road)...

My sister Bonnie, posed with one of 2010's pumpkin displays in Jackson...

One of the many covered bridges in the area... this one, in Jackson...

The train depot at North Conway...

One of the old coal-fired steam locomotives of the Cog Railway, at the summit of Mt. Washington
(These things are being retired... replaced with "Green" Bio-Diesel locomotives)...

And "Horizontal Icicles", common at the summit of Mt. Washington!

Here's a link to a video clip I took last year, from the same place the opening panorama was shot...

A link to a Moose, seen along Rt 302, near the Silver Cascade Falls...

And one last link - another moose - so relaxed she just laid there, while I was no more than 15 feet from her...

Finally had a break in the weather today, with no rain, and the sun able to come out from the clouds several times throughout the day. Temps remained in the high 40's all day. Beautifully cool and crisp!
Mt. Washington, though visible off and on today, was not drivable due to all the recent snow and ice. There's always next year.

So I spent some time along the Kancamagus Highway today, enjoying the cool air. At the Lower Falls of the Swift River, I asked someone to take this photo...

Checkout from the hotel is 11AM tomorrow, and although I'll be spending most of the day here while waiting out the Boston rush-hour traffic, I'll be headed back to my brother's for Friday evening and Saturday, to drive home to Ohio, on Sunday.
