Hello all, Having completed my first x-kilt a couple weeks back, I was in need of a sporran to go with it. Being somewhat of a leather worker, I decided to try my hand at making my own. Through this site I found a link to an old style sporran I liked the looks of, and appeared fairly easy to construct. A few nights later, here is the result. I used elk skin for the body, and a distressed cow hide for the flap. The hammer is a nod to my Norse ancestry. Now I just need to make a belt for the sporran, and a wider one for the kilt. Thanks for all the inspiration. Kyle
I love it , Great work . the leather lock is awesome

Wonderful for a first effort. Thor's hammer really set off the flap. And elk can't be beat as a body leather—buttery soft and a lot tougher than most people think. Way to go.

Wow! That really is top notch! I love the contrasting leathers! The Thor's Hammer bobble looks really cool.

Very nice sporran. I really like the contrast of the cowhide against the elk.
