I have 3 kilts from USA Kilts, A casual, a semi-trad and an 8 yarder. All three are excellent kilts. I would not be able to say a word against them. The casual is a great way to get a nice kilt to introduce you to the whole kilt wearing regime.

Don't forget Stillwater. They have GREAT entry-level kilts in many common tartans. That's how I and many others first tested the waters. Now I plan to get a USA Kilt from Rocky and a Freedom Kilt from Steve.

I have a nice semi-traditional kilt form USA Kilts and love it. Very high quality, great folks, great service. I'm not a Lexus guy either, and only do "extra" stuff like buying kilts with cash. So far I have a cheap sporran, a pair of cheap hose and some flashes, but have a birthday coming up and Christmas, so have not been shy about requests. I found an unbelievable deal (10 bucks) on a Scottish wool sport coat and and have had one of the forum members, VMac, tailor it for a kilt jacket for me. I should have it back within the next week or so. Now I need a wider belt, but am holding off getting more stuff till at least after Christmas. My goal is to complete a couple kilted looks before retirement when I will NOT be able to afford this stuff!

    Best of luck to you.

Frank: You sound like a man with a plan - a good one, too. Good luck on all your acquisitions and don't forget to keep us up to date - with pictures.

You don't have to do without in retirement. You can always forego luxuries, like medical care and eating.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
