Great pics, Jock! Thanks for persevering through the technical difficulties!
I hope everyone has duly noted Jock's sharp turnout: traditional Highland morning dress for the wedding and casual (but still traditional) daywear for the less formal, next day festivities. This is a good example of knowing what to wear for the THCD equivalent of non-kilted dress codes...
It truly warms the cockles of my heart to see one of Xmarks foremost Auld Crabbits (I use that term with affection) wearing the kilt not only south of Perth, but in another country entirely

I enjoyed the photos, Jock! It was interesting to see the morning dress worn as well as your kilt kit.

Well said, Colin.
Jock,
Thank you so much for sharing your photos and memories of such a special occasion. You and everybody else shown in the photos look fantastic! Very smart, simple and understated. The photo taken of you with "some of the family" is absolutely wonderful! The gentlemen in that particular photo look very well turned out indeed.
I have yet to visit Normandy and the many memorials dedicated to the Allied Forces who so gallantly and selflessly stormed the beaches on June 6, 1944. I am quite confident that I will make it there one day soon. As an American combat veteran myself, visiting Normandy and then perhaps moving further inland towards Paris in order to see other historical areas pertinent to WWII, is definitely on my "bucket list."
Thanks again,

I certainly enjoyed seeing those pics of you and your beautiful wife. And the fact that you were kilted outwith Scotland made them even better. Yes, as said by a few others - info about that great red car, please.
Also enjoyed seeing the pics of Normandy. The ship that I am a volunteer on here in San Francisco, the SS Jeremiah O'Brien, made 11 trips between England and Omaha and Utah beaches during the invasion and she is still steaming. Here is a pic of her taken recently steaming in San Francisco bay.

Right the wheels!
Without getting too boring. 1950 Jaguar XK120. It comes out from time to time and on the nice well surfaced and straight French roads it did do 90 MPH for a couple of miles, the straight six engine loved it, however the brakes are not as good as modern ones and the pilot was more than happy to tootle about at a more sedate 50/55 MPH for most of the time.

Great pics! Were you the only one kilted there? I see a fellow at the very right side of your first picture wearing a diced bonnet of some sort who looks like he might be wearing some sort of military uniform, but I can't tell if he's wearing a kilt.
I too enjoyed the examples of morning dress, especially with the top hats. You just don't see that over here, as most people just wear tuxedos to weddings, regardless of when the ceremony is performed.

Yes indeed there was another kilt on parade, worn by a piper.
