Hoo, boy! That even made me groan.
It made me smile, not groan. I watched him pitch (on TV) from behind the catcher. The ball moved like a wiffle ball. He must have been one of baseball's first, and best, knuckleballers.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

"Knock knock, anyone home?" Connection blew right past me - was it a knuckleball?

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Don't feel too bad. A lot of LitTrog's metaphors, alliterations, and onomatopoeia fly way over my head. I just happen to be a Satchel Paige fan.

That's a little too elevating. Flying under your radar might be more accurate.

A bit late...but on the Navajo reservation "dress jeans" are your newest jeans. Dress up is wearing your best jeans with your best boots, a white dress shirt with a bolo tie and a cowboy cut sportsjacket...and a cowboy hat. Actually looks pretty good. Never seen it, but out here guess a man bag would be saddlebags tossed over the shoulder.

So what is your kilted equivalent?

I see that a lot, and have even done it myself. But you'd better have a horse tied to the hitching post outside, or you're going to be laughed at as a poseur. My small town actually does have hitching posts in front of most businesses, and they get a lot of use, since most of us locals occasionally ride our horses into town. I mean, we gotta give the tourists something to take photos of, right?

Here, everything would be the same except I would use my least faded Blue denim Utilikilt Workman with a western belt buckle ( less than dinner plate size ). Still pondering the boots - may work with the Workman.
A tartan kilt would be hard to pull off here as most of my nicer cowboy shirts are patterned.

Geoff, no kilted equivalent - just commenting on the dress shirt & jeans combo with a saddlebag.
Tobus, used to use a saddlebag over my shoulder in a 3 piece suit and tie in New York City in the 60s. Had to manuever two huge rolling sample cases - one with each hand. So only option for a briefcase was a saddlebag over the shoulder. Don't recall any negative comments. Dressed like that in Manhatten probably obvious it was for convenince rather than posing.
