First ones won't do, I need at least 55" to start. So the 2nd one would do, but they're $26.25 for one blank, 3" wide. I figure for maybe 100 bucks I could buy enough leather to make 4 kilt belts, two in 2.5", two in 3", one black, one brown both sizes plus have a bunch left over for other normal width belts. I'm studying as I go, but I think all I need now is leather, buckles and some dye. I'm having fun!
Thanks for thinking of me! More later.

Found some folks on ebay that sell leather and operate a few miles from where I work and live. I'll be running over there in the next couple of days and picking up a veg tan double shoulder and some black dye and whatever you use for final finish in belts. This means I need to get off my duff and get some buckles! Amazon emailed me this morning that my brass Chicago screws are on the way too. Hmm, kilt belt this coming weekend?

I bought one of these straps from Tandy for my belt last week. http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/e.../4752-197.aspx
Sizes up to 72". I have it to a usable point, but I think I'm definitely going to bevel the edges and do some embellishments.
