Well, actually more of a bend. I decided a while back to take a little different approach on a sgian dubh. Tired of the little beasties slipping around all the time, I thought a bit more surface area in contact with my calf would help. Since the widest area of the package is usually the sheath, I grabbed some antler and a scrap of rosewood and fashioned the equivalent of a guard at the front of the hilt that matches the width of the sheath. Added bonus—by using the portion of the antler just before it branched off, there is a bit of a curve that hugs the curve of my leg, so the handle doesn't get knocked about. This thing stays planted, and is quite comfortable to boot.

LOVE the details. Well done!
A very handsome knife indeed - and very well made! Regards Chas
Love the detail ON the blade. very well done.
wow... that looks great - love that patterning in the blade (is that called a Damascus steel patterning?) The rosewood adds a nice buffer visual zone between handle and sheath.

It has an old-world rugged look to it.
