I am a working stiff too, Frank. I save my hard-earned money and buy a shirt at a time, or receive them as gifts. All I was trying to do, was to share other places in which very smart tattersall shirts are available.
Cheers,

That's a good looking shirt, Frank. Tattersal shirts have become my favourite with the kilt (after taking the advice of the fine folks on this forum). But you don't have to spend a fortune to get decent ones. Heck, I even own a tattersal shirt that came from Walmart. Most of them, though, came from places like Kohl's. You can find them in almost any men's store.
I've got one on order from shirtsmyway.com which will be custom-made to my measurements. It's over $100 for that shirt, but I figure it's worth it for quality and custom fit.

Cheers,
Gee, and here I thought you were just loaded!
Some of my sensitivity is that all of a sudden I have invested quite a bit of $ into kilts and accessories, and feel somewhat scorched! As you suggest, I will be saving my pennies, but other than my wife, all my kids are working full time and going to college full time. They can't afford to buy dad stuff; it's pretty much the other way around. Then too, we have our first grandchild, and guess what he's getting for Christmas?
Today I'll spend a bundle of bucks on leather, dye, rivets and leather tools for kilt (and other) belts, so I'll stop complaining...

I thought of looking for tattersall shirts at Kohl's Tobus, but never thought of Walmart! We have another store up in Albany called Boscov's that I buy most of my dress clothes at. It's similar to Kohl's and closer (not by much) than Kohl's is. I need to run up there this weekend and will check it out.
When will you be getting your custom tailored shirt? I can't wait to see it!
All the best,
Frank

You might check these out, particularly the "vanilla" one:
