Ignore thread tool option doesn't seem to be working
Over the last week or so when I go under thread tools and select "ignore thread" it doesn't seem to be working like it used to. I still get the option listed as "unignore thread" if I am to reopen the thread tool tab in the same thread. However, the threads I have chosen to ignore continue to appear on my "what's new" tab when someone else responds to them which they did not in the past.

I have noticed the same. "Ignore option" is not working.

Steve, I seem to be having the same problem. The "ignore thread" button is not working for me, either. Any news on this one?

Thanks for bringing this issue back to the forefront.
I'm going to check with Rob as he is much better at code than I am.

Can I get some details from those having the problem? What kind of PC, Windows or Apple, and the browser being used and version? I just tried it on this thread and it ignored fine, so may be a combination of factors.

OK, KCW. It isn't working for me. I have the habit of logging on and going straight to either "new posts" (under my user name where I log on) or "what's new" in the blue band on top next to "Forum". It doesn't work on my desktop (using Windows XP (fully up to date) and IE8) and it doesn't work on my old laptop (using Windows XP (not at all up to date) and IE8) either. Last night I logged on, clicked on "new posts" and got 4 posts, three of which I had previously clicked the "ignore thread" button.

Will not work with Firefox or IE8 on Win 7 or a separate box with XP and IE7. I check posts like BCAC above.
For me it stopped awhile back, almost as if I reached a limit. As an aside, there is no way to list what you have ignored.
Thanks

Thanks BCAC and HenryT, I will go test with those versions. To see the posts you have ignored, just click on the User CP link above your user name on the right side, and on your User CP, on the left side under the My Account section, there should be a link titled "Thread and Forum Ignore Lists"

KCW, Maybe Henry has a point there. Is there a limit on the number of threads you can ignore? I checked mine and I have 72 threads on ignore. Maybe I should try to "unignore" a few to see if it restarts working?

Well, KCW. I tried it and it seems to be that. I "unignored" ten threads, saved the changes and saw that I still had 72 threads on ignore. I "unignored" threads until the list gave me only 50 threads on ignore and the clicked "new posts". I saw that one of the threads that I previously had on ignore was now shown as a new post so I re-ignored it and reclicked the "new posts" and, voila, the ignored post was no longer there. There appears to be a limit on the number of threads that you can have on ignore, but I can't say what number that limit is.

Reason: bad spelling (again!)
