I like the gen 2 for its full tang and glueless construction. A true utility knife. Wonder now - if I steal the positioning spikes off this one and get the gen 2 ---?

The Gen 2 name has been replaced by "Legacy Arms Swords and Daggers".. they also have a newer-style dirk, in addition to their sgian dubh -- http://www.bytheswordinc.com/p-3771-...-ip-130-2.aspx. Clean lines, interesting handle. Thoughts?
I think a Sgian Dubh and a dirk are two differing knives. The dirk intended to be worn concealed at the waist and is longer. I think - long time since it looked this one up - 8 inch blade?.

After wearing and using this SD for a while ( letter opener - ) it got too easy to slip out of it's sheath.
A few months ago I used my centering punch to place two detents in the handle skirt (for lack of the proper term) and the sheath top. They are thin metal and very little force was required to make the detents. Some messing about was required to get the "latch force" just right - securely holding the knife in sheath, but allowing easy removal without damaging my socks with the sheath fixing points.
The initial punches were with the SD and sheath closed to put them in the right alignment. Then deepening the sheath pockets a little more. The sheath got a tad mangled but this is on the back side where it dosen't show.
