It's been a long strange ride so far and I'm not even halfway home yet.

I have just had a week away with my Mum and mainly older ladies on a "turkey and tinsel" event in Llandudno.
I was kilted every evening and knew how often the "usual question" would be asked (and indeed investigated!) I made certain that I was therefore "covered for emergencies" so they could enjoy their simple pleasures without any accompanying embarrassment. I could twirl and get thrilled "oohs" and deliberately half hearted attempts at pleat lifting just for the sheer fun it gave them. It was never meant to be serious and a good time was had by all.
If Grant needs a kilt check I can give him the address!

I'll bet the ladies had good sport and a great time with you. You sound like a lot of fun to be around. Good for you for making their lives a little brighter!
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

As a kid I had trews for my kilt. Now, many years later, I tried the much vaunted no underwear arrangement and found it too scratchy, as bad as those old trews. Back went the underwear and comfort. And it is obviously easier to wash underwear than a kilt. N'est-ce pas? Ikke sant?

Underwear is required, in my book. I have leather car seats, I'm horrified at the thought of making contact with a public seat of any kind, and having only worn a kilt for a couple of days I still sit and bend like I'm wearing jeans.

I think the only time I'll go regimental is at home, in private. Otherwise there's too much the threat of people pulling a fast one and trying to lift the kilt, or children trying to be curious, or anything Murphy can through at me. Beside with the winter months now here, having an extra layer of cloth to help trap heat is always a good idea.
