Awesome JD. Thanks! Seen Forks. For us the catalyst was listening to Dr Greger from NutritionFacts.org lecture on the top causes of death in America. I think it's called "Why do Vegetarians Live Longer". I will look for Veganomicon and check that link.
Well done XMan. I too lost about 21 pounds and a couple of inches this spring and early summer through watching what I eat and doing more exercise. The feeling of loose fitting clothes is a great feeling. Keep up the good work. Sounds like a good time to get another kilt as a reward for a job well done!

Good job Xman. Feeling better? For future reference a standard size Canadian bottle of beer is about 150 calories, 110 for light beer ak, and a 20 ounce draught is indeed 250 calories, so if you're cutting back make sure to drink good beer. That's my tip.

I'm just trying to be the person my dog thinks I am.
Do u have a goal waist size before kilt purchases begin?
No. I've made that goal and it was not kilt specific. I can alter my own kilts. At my fattest I was 34" and still have one kilt I made for that waistline which has already had the buckles moved 2" once. I wouldn't move them again. I think, because I'm a featherweight there is less leeway than there is for gentlemen of substance. I'm now about 30.5".

Yeah, I always drink pints of craft brewed ale which is usually on the more caloric side. I figure if I'm going to drink a beer I'm going to drink the one(s) I reeeeaalllly want to taste.
It is not easy to lose weight. So, congratulations for just doing that. But this is only the first step. Now you have to try not to gain weight again. I talk from experience: this is not easy at all!!! You can't continually diet. The challenge is to adapt your lifestyle. I wish you a lot of success.
