Kangaroo Kilt, is that what you're thinking? clever tactics but it still won't make me buy a leather kilt so forget it!!

I only wear tartan, that's all, nothing else, only tartan makes a PROPER kilt!!

Hey Rocky, how's the Victory kilt order going?

Nudging my way into the "Leather Kilt" topic........

I have to say that my solid leather Utilikilt (it was the first one they produced) is the most fabulous thing to wear (but maybe not so much in the summer months!). It is weighty, fits perfectly, has a good swing in spite of the pleats being stitched down to the hem, and looks a million dollars (so I have been told many times). This one definitely calls for chunky boots for the right 'look'!

Also, I have two imitation leather kilts from "TFCK", one black and one brown. These are usually taken (thankfully) for real leather. Not being the real thing, they are much lighter in weight and, being a full 6 yards, each has a fabulous swing factor. The brown version is SUCH a favourite of mine.

Yes, the solid leather Utilikilt was expensive (about US$650 last year) and I paid another GB£116 to import it into the United Kingdom - but, it is worth every penny it cost!

All three of these kilts are very soft and superbly warm - the colder-looking, shiny surface is on the outside. As Canuck says, the inside is like suede. I've posted photos of two of them in the relevant Kiltmakers' Photo Galleries.

Leather is available in tartan! One of my leather suppliers carries it.
no matter, I'm have no plans to convince you to acquire a leather kilt.
How were the camel races this past weekend?

    Hey Graham,

I should be starting your victory kilt pretty soon. We just came back from an AOH National convention in Philly this past week (Wed thru Sat). We have to catch up on orders that came in while we were running the booth (away from the shop).

At the convention, I was sewing at our booth while Kelly manned the front. Making kilts on the spot for customers is FUN! How's THAT for turnaround time... 2 hours.

I'll let you know when your FIRST SOLID KILT is out the door. You've crossed over to the "Dark Side"... you know that, right?

I agree with Hamish. Leather kilts are awsome, and I can't wait to get one of Robert's.

If you like your solid Colour Victory Kilt, will you be ordering an Utilikilt soon?
