Shorts below the knee? What next?
In South Africa shorts are seen in varying lengths, from just short of the crotch to just above the knee (a couple of inches above the knee is the norm here), but below the knee seems a bit extreme.
All the same, kilts look much smarter to my eye.
    Regards,
    Mike

Pretty much echoing what everyone else has said about the OP's kilt, the length is just fine!

Try tucking the shirt in and then blousing it a bit over the top of the kilt and see how you like it.

I did notice that tucking in looks better. I started wearing it that way last night.

I am particuarly partial to the tartan and clan crest...hmmm, wonder why?

The 'love handles' as you call them in pic 3 look to me like the top of the kilt, and as it's a casual kilt you could wear it lower on your waist. Also I think it would look better with kilt socks so as not so much flesh is showing. But really it's no big issue and looks fine.

The kilt is as low as it goes.

I will get hose as my budget allows.

    I think you look great!

When I take photographs of my guys in their kilts, I drop down to one knee to adjust the camera perspective a bit lower. It seem to help with the pics.

Kilt length looks good. But...I'm thinking your legs may be .5-1" too long. Perhaps shorting them would help things to look "spot on". ;) just kidding you know.
