ummm...shucks...but Steve designed the tartan and Kathy agreed Steve's choice of pleating it to the red stripe looked best. Just bought his tartan creativity and copied his fashion sense. Got no shame about it though since it IS so darn pretty.

And yes I know its not official. It sure is a wonderful variation of the Leatherneck tartan though and soooo beautiful....but a beautiful tartan that also dances!
Riverkilt , that is absolutely one hell of a good looking kilt ( excuse my french , I couldn't help myself ) and pleating choice . I have been following Steve's threads and posts on this tartan and I think it certainly speaks " Marine Dress Blues " ! It is not only a magnificent tribute to the Corp , it is also an extremely handsome tartan .

Congratulations on the kilt ! It's beautiful and it's a bonus that it dances !!! Of course what else would it do , it's meant to be a Marine tartan and Marines are not known for sitting still !!

    Best to ya , Mike

Okay, was out hiking this morning. Took the camera and here are some examples of these "dancing pleats."

What is so cool is I can feel the pleats dancing when I walk...they bounce around like wind chimes in the wind.

In this day and age the rule is " Video .... or it didn't happen !!"

Now you either have to beg, borrow or steal a video camera or you could just steal a bottle from that liquor aisle, have your defense team subpoena the video and then post up them there dancin' pleats. Easy peasey !

P.S. Just saw the pics and gotta say I think they are dancing Gangnam Style! Looks great, glad you are so happy with it.

That's a beautiful tartan, sewn like a dream, and shared with an unforgettable backdrop. Well done, all!

I've been trying to compose a quip along the lines of "puts a little more swish in your swagger" but so far can't come up with anything a Marine might want said about his "six" LOL
Proudly Duncan [maternal], MacDonald and MacDaniel [paternal].
