Took my SportKilt out for a drive!

I posted a couple pictures in my gallery of my trip last weekend to the Cascade mountains in Washington State.

It was to a local 4x4 event that the Pacific Northwest 4wd assoc. puts on each year in the first part of July. Since I work in the 4x4 industry, it was work for me. Our salesman organizing our participation in the event didn't think my Camo UK would pass and I wasn't going to wear my Black UK which I reserve for dress up, so out came the good old Sport Kilt in team USA colors.

It was such a hit to the crowd and brought so much attention to the ARB guy in the kilt (over 450 people showed up), that the salesman joked that our whole crew should show up in kilts embroidered with our company logo next year. Maybe I can convince him it's not such a bad idea after all, especially since the temp on the east side of the mountains is often 90 to 100 degrees.

You really look great, so relaxed (of course a kilt does that). What a great way to get people involved in kilting.

Definitely relaxed! and that was after about 4-5 hours on the trail, veiwing some of Washington state's incredible mountain scenery.

We absolutely loved the trip (my daugther is in the back and my son took the pic). I've been fourwheeling for 15+ years now and have been wanting to 4wheel in a kilt since I started wearing them last summer, well this was the first trip out with one and man what a difference it made.

I've done a bit of off roading in a kilt, the only problem was worrying about getting sludge on it. Nice pics Tim, I've currently got a standard Suzuki sj 413 and one with a 2.8 diesel engine with a toyota hilux chassis, body lifts and 35" tyres. Enjoy yourself in the mud mate.

Great piccies Tim, your (son?) looks fantastic in the kilt, very smart, no wonder his boss was pleased.

Is there much difference between a Sports kilt and the Utilikilt? they look the same to me.

To quote John McEnroe, "You cannot be serious."

Sports kilts look nothing like Utilikilts. Sports kilts are lightweight budget tartan kilts, whereas Utilikilts are usually solid colour US style kilts with pockets. How can you say that they look the same?

I was referring to the plain kilt in Toms' photos, the young lad at his graduation, is that a utilikilt? or a plain sportskilt (they do have plain ones on their site)

It is neither Graham. It is a green AmeriKilt.

Looks like what they call Olive Green to me.
