Talking of Monica Lewinsky kilts, I refer to my Poly vis kilts as "Bill Clinton" kilts, teflon coated - nothing sticks (could apply to any politician).

What is the advice on cleaning these kilts, dry cleaning or hand washing?

Right from the Marton Mills site:

Wash/care: wash at 40 degrees, iron on 2 dots (medium iron), can be dry-cleaned. Fabric conditioner unnecessary and not recommended.

toss em in the washer it is then.
I've only washed my Bear Kilt once, it was fine.

My wool kilt is at the cleaners for the first time, not bad for 5 kilts and over a year of wearing.
They are amazing, stupendous, magical garments indeed!

I've washed all three of my Bear kilts and have never had a problem. I think the Black Watch kilt has been through about 6-7 times now.
