We live just an hour north of NYC and I can hardly wait to go see the Kinloch Anderson kilts close up. I've heard that they are very high quality. Good for Brooks Brothers!

I was going past the Downtown Chicago Brooks Brothers store yesterday and couldn't resist the temptation to pop in and ask them if they were going to open a kilt counter in their location.
Stunned silence.....followed by something like, "I don't think that they sell kilts in our New York store...."
Long story short.....they haven't a clue.

Which is why I rather doubt ordering a kilt from BB would be a good idea...

Kinloch Anderson were once a truly great bespoke kiltmakers with premises on George Street in Edinburgh. They are certainly a cut above the likes of Gold Bros and their pseudo Scottish wear touted along the Royal Mile for the tourists and I hope they succeed with their new transatlantic venture.

Proof that the kilt fashion boom is still solid.

I visited the Kinloch Anderson in Brooks Brothers briefly yesterday. They have a small selection of kilts, jackets, and, accessories (sporrans, belts, and the like). I was told they plan to offer "custom-made kilts" after beginning of the new year. It's an attractive sales space, but doesn't offer the variety available, say, from the member retailers on the forum.
Time there was limited as I had to get to a meeting.

I travel to Manhattan each spring/summer for anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. I look forward to visiting BB when I get there in 2013.
