14oz. duck canvas cotton or 18oz. twill cotton?

Time to set up for a kilt.
The big question to go with 14oz. duck canvas cotton or 18oz. twill cotton.
My thinking brain says heavier is better.

Go with the duck canvas, it kilts up nicely and after some good abuse and washing/drying it will soften for a very nice wearing kilt. The 18 oz stuff is nice, but is maintainence heavy and rather a pain to work with. Next time you are in Victoria drop by the shop and have a look, we have a few in the weights you are thinking about and that way you'll be able to compare with the kilt in hand.

Are you SURE you want 100% cotton? It wrinkles like nobody's business. cotton/polyester blends work a lot better.
