Newbie from Texas
Hello all kilted people,
I'm new to the forum and am interested in learning more about the ways of the kilt, so to speak. I purchased a kilt to be able to compete in Scottish Heavy Athletics about nine months ago. I'va always been fascinated with the Highland games, just the idea of throwing heavy stuff really far was intriguing. I found out that you don't have to be a 6'4" 275lb. man to compete, but that they have a under 190 category and was determined to try my hand. After competing in my first games, where I finished fifth out of five, I was hooked, and can't wait to do more. I'm not at the place in life yet where I can compete as much as want, but I know that in time, I will be. For now, I'll continue to practice and seek out more about my Scottish fore-fathers and increase my appreciation for wearing the kilt.

My back's not too good so I lift a glass to welcome you from here in Mass. I am growing more accustomed to and even appreciative of those who lift and throw. I think its great. Welcome.
