I think that even those of us who wear only strictly traditional, Highland wear, we still experience some of the closed-mindedness associated with a general belief that men must only dress a certain way.

When a woman asks me what I wear under my kilt, that is one of my stock replies. It often results in a reflexive smile that immediately transmogrifies into a look of horror and disgust. I can't imagine why.
