I expect that the lighter mass will affect the swish-factor, and I'm ok with that, for the types of activities I'd likely be doing with such a light weight kilt. I was more concerned that I'd be basting and re-pressing pleats every other time I wear it. However, your response, and my own further reflection last night, have reassured me that I wont need to worry about it.
I just pulled the trigger and ordered one, in the Buchanan Ancient tartan. It'll be a nice summertime addition to my kilt wardrobe.
