I keep coming back to it about once a month. Thank-you both.

Aye. I echo all those who say " I come back to this post..." because it is so informative. I actually look at it as my only GQ source on how to dress in highland attair. Thank
You Jamie and Glen. You have given me so much confidence that I actually went during the day of the opening of the olympics games to work kilted.
I probably wasn't the most stylish, but i was proud and didn't give a fig what others thought about my Scottish garb. I was FREE!

I'm new to the site and am enjoying looking. Thanks for the selection of different ways to wear the kilt. Now I have to find so ways for older women to achieve a good look with appropriate Scottish wear.

Awesome thread for a kilted newbie - like me. Especially appropriate, in my case, because my first kilt is a Black Watch and it is easy for me to see the possibilities. Thanks for taking the time (albeit a couple years back) to provide this sampler.

Wow what a great thread and what sharp dressers! Most the men I'm around would go out in a black belt, brown boots, blue jeans, and a button up shirt and call it semi-formal. Do we have a thread like this for kilted/pleated skirts for women?

I just wanted to thank the Original Posters and this thread, thanks to your efforts and reference photos I've gotten Kilts approved for my workplace here in North Texas.

In fact the pictures this thread were INSTRUMENTAL in working with HR and my various bosses to clarify what was and wasn't within code (#4 through #8).

The claret hose at the bottom actually match the kilt well.

I don't show any sporran because I don't own a "day" sporran! That's my next project.
You make mention of "too much red" in I'm assuming you meant the second picture?
In my humble opinion this is not the case? I think it's looks amazing personally.

I realise I'm posting on a thread that started years before I found X marks, but I just wanted to say this is one of my favorites. I especially like how the OPs are wearing very different tartans, one quite dark and the other rather bright. And this does nothing to affect the versatility of either kilt. Kudos to both of you.
