    Accessories

I was wondering if the accessories of your kilt should all match. For instance, if you have your clan crest on one thing, should everything have it? If you have a thistle buckle, but want to have a breast cancer awareness kilt pin, will that be odd?

EDIT: My apologies! I just realized I accidentally selected the wrong section to post this. Is there a way to move it over to the Kilt Advice section?

My thoughts, roll with what you like and what you are proud of. It's not a uniform, unless it is a uniform.

Short answer to your question kerdy is No. If you have a clan crest on your bonnet, a belt with another emblem, and a kilt pin with something else, there is no problem whatsoever. I usually wear a clan crest on my balmoral, a plain brass kilt buckle and my fathers rising sun badge as a kilt pin (and usually another blanket type kilt pin with one of my old uniform buttons attached)

For Clan tartans and badges it is generally regarded as one of those "social niceties" not to mix clan emblems and even to this day offence can be taken. So for example, if you are wearing a Clan MacOnion tartan kilt, then it is better not to wear another Clans emblems elsewhere. On the other hand an Xmarksthescot bonnet badge, for example, in you bonnet whilst wearing a Clan tartan will cause no offence to any one.
