    Fleeting "Friend Request"

I received email notification of a "friend request." Thinking that this works like PM notifications -- that is, it pops up on your next visit to forum -- I deleted the email without reading. On visiting the forum, I can't find the friend request anywhere and don't even know who it was from. Is that email notification the only existing link to a friend request? Or where can I find it on the forum/profile screens?

To the person who sent the request: my apologies!

You have to go to your "Friends" list, and there should be a member's avatar there, at the bottom, that looks like it's been whited out. You can either accept or decline.

I've never understood the purpose of the friends list.

The friends list is just one of the built in features of vBulletin. It is part of the 'package'. I think the idea is - He who dies with the most friends on his list, wins.

You may access your friends list three way. Click either "User CP" on far left of the top, dark blue, navigation bar. Or 'User CP just above your avatar in the right column. Or your own name anywhere on the forum.

Each of these will take you to a slightly different part of your own personal profile.

Look in the left column near the bottom under "settings'. You should see a box for 'friends and contacts'.

OK, finally found it under "Edit Friends List." At the bottom of that screen is "Incoming Friend Requests" area where you can accept.

Thanks for the hints. I am befriended
