Very smart, mate! I too have considered a new kilt pleated to the sett, as all of my Macpherson kilts are pleated to the stripe (which I am very fond of). Hmmm...ya got me thinking! Enjoy Burns Supper and keep warm!

    Cheers,

MacSpadger: That's a great looking kilt regardless of the price. You got a very good deal and I hope you enjoy wearing it.

Also, thank you for the information. If I do order a kilt from CoP, it appears that I'll have to communicate the important details via email. Enjoy the Burns Dinner. I'm going to the one in Santa Fe this Saturday. It's supposed to be cold, but no snow.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

A customer of ours reported that Geoffrey (Tailor), who also has a booth at this same Games, quoted about $900 for the same kilt. So the price difference you describe does not surprise me.
Matt, those games must be pretty wet, we're sure getting it up here at home.

Disregard, I didn't notice the posting date.

Thanks mookien. If others have the same experience as me, then everyone ordering through the College of Piping can get a great deal on a R.G Hardie kilt, 16oz 8 yard Lochcarron strome; £294.95 for UK residents, if you are not a UK resident you would pay £245.79, that's around 393 USD.
That's a staggering price when you consider the fabric cost is £200 from Lochcarron. I've examined the kilt thouroughly, it's made from one continuous piece of cloth, there's no hidden seam or join from where it's been made from one 4 yard double width cloth cut in two.

It really did sound too good to be true, but it isn't. I said that I'd let members here know how I got on, so I can say I'm very pleased with the kilt and the whole transaction. Over & Out.
