Ok, point taken; but, that still isn't a 65-year-old woman.

HM. No sign of LitTrog since just before Christmas. I sure hope he's not slackin' off. *poke*

Yes, slacking of a sort...You see, I've been going through a painful separation.
My wife and I used to spend our Sunday mornings cuddled up doing newspaper crosswords. At the end of 2012, we found ourselves seated at the kitchen table, separately playing Words With Friends. I decided at that point to separate myself from all social media for the first few weeks of the new year. Painful! I cheated a little with FB, but have kept it for the most part.
On the workout side, I also took a few weeks from heavy lifting. I had a good chunk of time off work, so I took my doctor's advice and doubled the amount of sleep I got each night and engaged in other forms of recreational exercise: Snowshoeing, hiking, kickboxing, etc. and even dragged myself back to a climbing wall and introduced my boy to the joy of chalky hands (and, since he's a devoted nose-picker, chalky nostrils).
Today is the day I get back after it. I feel recharged and ready to tackle the 6-7 months of discipline it will take to get ready for my first games. Going to do some light squats, incline, chins, rows, and tri-bi lifting. Tomorrow, that pitiful mewling sound you hear will be me.
Sorry about being AWOL, all, but it needed to be done.

No problem here. You had me worried, when I started reading and I saw "separation" but then it levelled out. So, *Good*. Glad you got in some climbing, too.

A heads up before hand would have been nice, though.

Yeah, I'm kind of a butthead like that, Pink. My mom always says that I never call, but there's always a distinct note of gratitude when she says it...
Mid-January and our high for today will be in the 60's so instead of lifting this morning I grabbed a rusty 12lbs.shot and went to the park. Worked the board drills I've seen Alan doing on the Tube and got in a few hammer winds just so my body could be reminded what I'm spozda be doing.
Had a woman stop with her dog and ask me if I was training for the circus. I'm assuming my shaved head and handlebar 'stache made her think of an old-timey strongman. Or maybe she thought my grunting and falling and cursing and farting belonged in a clown show. I didn't bother to ask.

This will be interesting...just gave my verbal commitment to join some friends doing at least two mud runs this spring/summer. Was going to back off since I've not maintained much cardio over the past 4 months, but the darn things are so much fun! Now you all can watch me slack at my training for TWO sports!
Threw up some weights yesterday and today, splitting my push/pull and legs, hitting more exercises with lighter weights. Might be earlier than recommended, but I'm probably going to shift over completely to speed and throwing work by the end of this month. I don't forsee a problem lifting the implements, but controlled acceleration might be if I don't get on my horse.

Nope...I start speed work on Feb. 2...we're there. Serious throwing starts first week of March.

Good deal. I was starting to feel a little...creaky. My fine bone structure and whatnot.
