Graham, not sure what to say mate but surely there must be an area of compromise. All you can do is what you feel to be in the best interest for all. Good luck.

Hamish, your vanity knows no bounds
Bubba, my wife is an amazing woman, her head is not easily turned, even by Sean and Mel.
Richard, good thought, it will take time.
Jamie, send the guy over - quick!

I don't believe for one second that she means that, Graham! She is simply trying to push your buttons. Have you told her lately that you prefer her in skirts and find her less attractive in trousers? They don't look at it that way, do they? Technically, there's no difference.

Graham,
I'm speechless. I'm with you 100%. I have no doubt that you will be able to work things out. Good luck my friend.

Spot on as always Blu, in fact I told her just that.
No matter Glen, I was just feeling sorry for myself last night, no marriage is without such hiccups, it's not easy for her to make the adjustments to a husband always in kilts either.
It's good to have so many 'shoulders to cry on'

Graham,
I am so relieved to hear that, I was certainly hoping that it would be some sort of adjustment thing. I imagine that she thinks of you as the free spirit of the team. From what you have said in earlier posts, she must be a real jewel! Even though kilts are foreign to her, in time she will probably be a bigger kilt supporter than even you. Stranger things have happened!

I am curious to know about Blu's famous questionaire.
While my wife was very eager [quite encouraging, really] to see me in Highland attire, she didn't bargain on my deciding to make the kilt my daily wear. To be honest, I didn't either!
Karen was a little hesitant the first time she accompanied me while I was wearing my casual kilt. She didn't say much, which I suppose was the giveaway since she usually has something to say, but I could tell she was uncomfortable. As chance would have it, an employee at the Home Depot approached us, mentioning that he and a few of the others on staff wanted to get kilts for the work place. I guess wearing a casual kilt didn't look seem so strange to her after that. On the way out she said that if I could wear a kilt to Home Depot I could pretty much wear one anywhere.
My wife is usually such an iconoclast, so I was surprised by her initial reaction. However, she loves seeing her man in a kilt, and since that time has been ultra supportive- which should be obvious given the amount I now have invested in my wardrobe.
I would love to get her into some Highland attire, but Karen doesn't like skirty things, and doesn't feel she would look good in trews. Chris from Southerncelt.com sent me a few very interesting looks, but I couldn't talk her into any of them.

Mychael,
I will put the link below to Blu's questionnaire.
It raised eyebrows for some and let others strut
around for a while.
Really, it was an excellent survey.
Maybe your wife and some of the other newer members significant
others will post their responses. We can breathe life back into this
topic.

My wife doesn'y care for skirts either, or pants for that matter. She prefers dresses because she doesn't like things tight around the waist. I'm making her a tartan jumper, a kind of sleeveless, collarless dress, instead. The skirt part of it has the look of a kilted skirt complete with pleating, straps and buckles. There's always a way.
