I remember a fan telling me that he downloaded one of my songs...illegally...and that he dug my tune. Sure, I made a fan but he won't ever pay me a penny for his enjoyment after I spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours writing, recording, producing, mixing, mastering, replicating, copyrighting, trademarking, and promoting my album (working on album number two now).

Sure, stickiing it to a corporation feels good...but they always just pass the pain on the the little guy.

Sorry if I stepped on your toes, my friend. I meant no disrespect.
Never fear, I only use it to try stuff - if I like it, I go buy the DVD/CD. Only having one working PC and my wife addicted to a game called 'Grepolis', its the only way I get to see stuff. Got fed up last night and went to bed and it was almost an hour before she realised...

Having had a few small businesses of my own I know what its like with the 'big guys' - had my print business go belly up almost on that magical '3 year' mark due to a number of software houses launching DTP for busines cards etc, at home.

If I like what I see, I WILL buy the DVD, so use YouTube as a 'try before you buy' thing. With the price of CDs and DVDs still outrageously high, from a consumer point of view, it saves me wastign money I coudl spend on the kids, or kilt stuff of course...
