Hello from the Hoosier State
Just posting a friendly hello from Indiana!
I'm a new user and descendent of the Keith Clan. I'm on here to find out more about Scottish traditions, make the acquaintance of other folks, and find some help putting together a semi-formal ensemble.
Oh, I'm really excited to learn all about Burns night, as Burns is one of my favourite poets.
If you're anywhere near Indiana, (Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and I'll even accept Kentucky or Iowa,) let me know about events in your area.
If you have an old kilt or a Prince Charlie you wouldn't mind selling to a graduate student who is going to wear a kilt to his thesis defense, let me know. I posted in the "wanted" section about it.

Welcome to here. From NW Indiana. I'm fairly new as well, so I'm afraid I don't have much info for events and such.

And a good evening to you all!
Pbutts - my work combines visualization, ethnography, and quantitative analysis of student outcomes. I'm primarily concerned with how horribly students are doing when they change majors in college. Turns out, they're not doing horribly at all.
Llama - NW Indiana? Oh bother... you might as well lie and say you live in Downers Grove. Nobody will ever know the difference!
Chas - hello from the left side of the pond!

Welcome from a Purdue grad (BSIM, '80) now in Ohio.
The Caledonian Society of Cincinnati Burns Supper is this coming Saturday night (follow the link in my sig for more info). They also throw a great Spring Ceilidh in April. There are Highland Games at Columbus IN in September (Clan Keith won Best Clan Tent last year) and at Indy in October. Michigan has Games at Alma and Livonia. The Ohio Games are in June at Wellington and the Ohio Renaissance Festival has a Highland Weekend in the fall. The Glasgow KY Games are an institution.
I believe that there are Games near Chicago too, but I'm not familiar with that one.
