piperdbh: What a great picture! It's even better than the original. Leaning into that wind must have made it especially difficult. All it lacks is a nearby Highland cliff. Good work! Thanks for posing and posting.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

From me, for the right price. I made these to my measurements ("spindle shanks" is the technical term). PM me if you're interested.
For those of you who are just dying to know, I made these hose from worsted-weight Cascade 220, on size 5 dpns. The black rakers are knitted in, not duplicate-stitch embroidered. I worked them flat and seamed up the backs using a very bad mattress stitch. The pattern continues down the foot, in case I wear these hose with buckle brogues. In spite of being made from worsted, they are quite comfortable. I mulled over several cuff options, but the one that seemed best was no cuff, just as in the painting.

You can't see it in the picture, but the direction I'm looking is toward a 30-foot drop-off. Not exactly a cliff, and I'm not in the Highlands, but you get the drift. Thanks for looking.

Thanks, Matt. Knowing the collection of hose in your closet (and their producer), that's quite a compliment.
