Lol! I imagine something quite similar about Matt's lifestyle, too. Scerene, earthy, and hearty. All good traits and evidence of a life owned by the one who lives it. I don't know you personally, Matt, but I reckon that I would like you. You are always a gentleman in your posts and your reputation is utterly untarnished.. I salute you, sir.

    Soay Sheep- our latest project

Congrats on your new flock, glad you found Virginia. These are such neat little sheep you will enjoy them. They are a real bit of living Scottish history in your own back yard.

I think that it was Gavin Maxwell who bought Soay to start a basking shark fishery. Perhaps you will eventually add a couple of otters to the menagerie?

It was indeed Gavin Maxwell who used(not sure if he bought it) the island as a base for his basking shark enterprise. Those that might be looking for the Isle of Soay, it is situated just off the Southern shores of Skye.

    Matt,
I am curious about not having to shear these sheep. I understand that it must mean their hair will stop growing at some point, but what will be the best way for you to get the wool? Brushing or shearing anyway?
