Congratulations. I see Paul has once again worked his magic. I'm waiting impatiently for the other photo's of your kilt in action (with at least one shot of the pleats).

Yes a handsome tartan you came up with there! It has a nice "old" look to it; it would not look out of place among our oldest traditional tartans in my opinion. This is harder to do than one would think: most modern tartans have something about them, being clumsy design or poor colour choices etc etc that make them look non-traditional.

The colours of yarns selected were lovely.

I've been down that road, and have a kilt in a tartan I designed. I have a couple other tartans I've designed that I would really like to have woven if I ever have the money!

BTW what was the cost of the tartan? How many yards did you have woven? Single width or double? Thanks!

    Hi Folks,

for the first: thanks for all the nice comments, some pics will follow soon, am a bit busy at the moment ....

@OC Richard: The tartan is 15 oz - about 8 yds, single width from D.C. Dagliesh. For small amounts of custom weave they normally do a single width because of the smaller set-up costs of the smaller loom ....I can't quote the single price for the tartan because it was a 'full-service-price' done with Paul Henry. Absolute recommendation. I will sent you a PN with some more details of the cost ;-)

    Greetings from Germany
