    Earings male

Is an earing for a man acceptable?
Mine is permanent, would have to be cut off.
Is there a protocol for them?

Welcome to the addiction of kilts! While an earring is not my thing, no one will give you any grief for wearing one.

Acceptable for whom, and in what context?

It had better be acceptable. I have ear plugs in both ears and have had for several years. No one has ever said they were inappropriate. And welcome to the rabble by the way

I've had earrings in both ears for most of the last 25 years. What guys wear in their ears is pretty much a non-issue these days.

Do they prevent you from doing up your kilt straps?

Actually a chain goes from the left ear ring to the kilt strap, you've been peeking
Just trying to show no disrespect, new to all of this and enjoying it tremendously.

Well Phil, I'm not supposed to tell you this, but Jordan is really a professional interventionist. We will be discussing OUR plan for your ear plugs and tatoos on the 16th. Don't try to cancel the event, running from the problem will only make it worse.

    See you soon!

Since I didn't see any reference to kilts, or perhaps earrings worn as an accessory while kilted, I can only assume this is meant in the most general sense of the way this question was asked. I am therefore moving this into the "Miscellaneous" forum, where this will be better placed.

According to my father-in-law, retired deputy from the state of Minnesota, and thrice decorated Marine, no. Earrings on men are not acceptable.

According to what I have observed in the US today, earring on men are not only acceptable but the standard "norm". To truly stand out nowadays, your ears should be pristine and intact.
