A little weaving...
I am messing about some with Inkle and tablet weaving..this is the second tablet attempt...the thread is a bit coarser than I wanted, so I am making another one of these with smaller thread...will likely be a pair of garter ties. This piece became a collar for our little dog, and a pocket lead rope for the horse.

I have built a couple..one is hideaous..took about a half hour to put together..just to play with..liked it..so I built a crescent inkle loom...am about to build a second one for my wife..she makes friendship bracelets with the daughters...and I am building myself an old english style inkle loom..which is basically a warping board with an extra peg or two. Owning a sawmill is handy. the shuttles I make from thin plywood, and just eyeball the profile...easy.

Here is a thread I had involving my home made inkle loom and garter ties I make. There are free plans on the net for Inkle looms and plenty of videos and free advice. You can make some dandy garter ties along with many other strap type items. Enjoy....

Garter ties are a great idea for an inkle loom! Of related interest may be tablet (aka card) weaving, which can result in some gorgeous designs. It's been in my 'need to try that' queue forever.

That's great. I would like to attempt a pair of wool yarn flashes some day.

The piece in the picture is tablet woven...on an inkle loom...easier to sit on my bitt in a comfy chair that way.
