    My targe has a detachable spike. It threads into the boss, which is nice because it isn't able to be used by the safty standards of the group I spar with.

    Thank you. I highly recommend making one, it doesnt cost too much and is a lot of fun.
    To make a sparing targe, the ones we normally use, I used 1/2 inch chip board and put a gate handle on the back, an old belt works good for the strap. Goodwill is the place to go for old belts. Its amazing how much fun you can have with little.
