Smile "One can never have enough socks"

Partially inspired by Harry Potter, I picked up two pairs....one for fun--the Bowmore Country socks--and a pair of charcoal, sadly, so I have something appropriate for piping at funerals.

In Sorcerer's Stone, Dumbledore reveals that he sees himself "holding a pair of thick woollen socks" in the Mirror of Erised, which shows "nothing more or less than the deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts." He also makes the wonderful remark that "One can never have enough socks...Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn't get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books".

Thanks for the heads up on the Navy Blue Lewis sale. Ive been wanting some nice navy blue to balance out my collection of kilt hose. To me they are a classy color usable with many kilts and easily dressed up with a bit of color with garter ties. For my big feet it is also hard to find kilt hose so they had the 13-14 at 29 dollars. They came to my door swift as the wind, I think I ordered friday and had them on a monday or tuesday. These are worth the full price and are a great bargain at 29. I look forward to wearing them. Many thanks for the heads up on this great sale.

Thanks for the pointer - interesting, and fun. Now, I want to go back and read all the books again, ... while wearing HofC hose, of course.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Um, that was from Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone (or Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone in the US) not Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets.

Keep in mind the ribbing on the Bowmore socks stop at the foot, unlike HoC's other hose and country socks. This will be noticeable whilst wearing regular shoes.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
Kyle: You're right about that. I hadn't noticed it before. I wonder why only the Bowmore, of all HofC's lines, have that characteristic. Maybe like me, they just haven't noticed yet.

I believe it's because they are designed to be worn with Wellys.

Well, imagine that. In the 2012 catalog they show the Bowmore model with boots, but in the 2013 version the model is wearing country shoes and the difference is very noticeable. I'll just have to start wearing my kilts and Bowmores with Wellys.
