I've been a fan of the blends from JM Boswells. My favorite is thier Bear Blend, created by a couple of friends of mine. And fortunately for me, they ship.

There used to be a tobacco shop in San Francisco until recently called Grant's where I would get a blend called Macon Supreme. Right now, I smoke Carter Hall or Captain Black Gold or cherry. The next time I'm in The City, I will have to see what the Humidor Smoke Shop (formerly Sherlock's Haven) has to offer.

This thread got me thinking about my Dad who smoked a pipe when I was a youngster. He passed two years ago. I have one of his old Erinmore tins in my tackle box. Wonderful indeed.
I'm just trying to be the person my dog thinks I am.

I only lift my pipe a couple times a year when something requires deeper pondering. When I do I like Peterson's Old Dublin or G. L. Pease Haddo's Delight.

With the new surcharges for smokers in health insurance I have had to stop smoking my pipe. I would go to the local pipe shop and just smell and see what you like. Ask the guy which is better for you. Some burn faster and some burn slower and such. Good luck. It is fun!
