Greetings from the English Midlands
Hi,
I spent the first 21 years of my life in Scotland (around Glasgow), but then work and study took me south of the border. I've been living in the English midlands for many years.
I love wearing the kilt, but would feel too conspicuous in this part of the world - I would be the only kilted person in town!
I recently spent a week in Edinburgh, and wore a kilt the whole time. I came across Xmarks while looking for information on the etiquette of informal kilt-wearing.
The time in Edinburgh was great in every way, including some very positive comments on my kilt. I am always a little disappointed at how few people wear kilts as everyday wear.
