Thanks Mike, although I think the general consensus from the clan is to let sleeping dogs lie. No one will take offence, not even Lochiel if anyone turns up to a Cameron get together in a COE tartan.

Turning up in the Lochiels family tartan, now that is a different matter entirely.

I have seen Lochiel wear a pair of trews of Cameron of Erracht tartan on more than one occasion.

Luckily not. I always time my visits at low midge season. Although last time I was up was late August and didn't come across one. Guess I was very lucky.

Thinking about this, whilst my temperature is somewhere near normal, I have flu at present, as Lochiel served in the Camerons( if my memory serves correctly) so wearing the Cameron of Erracht tartan would be a natural choice for him, so he just might take a dim view of someone who did not serve in the Regiment wearing the tartan? I know not.
