A-Hay Custom Sporrans Review

Hello, Rabble! I was recently gifted a prototype sporran from our own Tom, owner/artisan of A-Hay Custom Sporrans.

It arrived in the post today.

Let me tell you...THIS THING ROCKS!!!
It came with a magnetic closure and an optional chain-connector. I opted to use my leather strap instead of my chain.

As to the size-it is quite generous. I was easily able to carry my phone, keys, and wallet with a decent amount of extra space left over. It's lined with a nice red leather and trimmed with some sharp braiding.

Tom made this sporran a while back as a painted design. He decided to remove the paint (smart idea...it really cleans up the design and shows of his SUPERB tooling).

I HIGHLY recommend Tom's craftsmanship and products.

I hope to commission a custom sporran from him in the future.

Can I wear this gorgeous thing for semi-dress occasions? Thank you for your advice.

I should point out that the sporran is not made crooked in the photo of me wearing it. I forgot to adjust it before snapping the photo so it was a tad askew.

As a owner of one of his sporrans, I have to agree that the workmanship is awesome. Congrats on yours !

I see on another thread that you are anticipating the arrival of a kilt from Rocky in the Holyrood Tartan. I have that tartan also and it really is a favorite of mine. Looking forward to seeing the kilt and sporran together!
